Birdaking in the Coorong!

Birdaking in the Coorong!

Rob Tanner, Adelaide Canoe Club member, is looking for interested kayakers to undertake a research trip to monitor bird numbers on the Coorong.
The first expedition is this weekend, Saturday 5th.

If you are interested in assisting Rob on this trip and on future trips please contact Rob on 8339 2835.

This project is being established in collaboration with the Australasian Wader Studies Group, Dept of Environment and Heritage and Canoe SA to use kayaks to count wading birds along a stretch of the Coorong not readily accessable to small powered boats.   It will not only require stamina, good kayaking skills and an explorer mentality, it will also need an interest in (willingness to learn) or good knowledge of the CoorongÕs wading birds, a willingness to bush camp Winter and Summer and the perseverance to help with this project for at least 4 seasons (4 visits, each over a weekend).  You will need your own equipment (we will help where we can).  This is definitely not a relaxed recreational paddle!  If you would like to help and youÕve got what it takes please contact Rob.
