Murray 200-100-Relay Canoe Marathon

 

The Murray 200-100-Relay Canoe Marathon will be held over the QueenÕs Birthday long weekend on the 10th to the 12th June, 2006 on the River Murray.

 

The event is one of AustraliaÕs premier long distance canoe marathons, attracting 130 canoeists, aged between 15 and 75, each year to: break records and/or personal best times; enter a friendly competition; and enjoy the spectacular views of the River Murray.

 

The canoeists entering the Murray 200-100-Relay Canoe Marathon can paddle as: single, double, fours, or in a relay team.  The canoeists can paddle the full distance of 208km on the River Murray from Berri to Morgan or choose the less strenuous distance of 93km.  The relay team will have the chance to paddle the 208km, however are required to change canoeists during various sections of the marathon.

 

The aim of the Murray 200-100-Relay Canoe Marathon is to provide male and female canoeists with the ultimate canoe experience that will pose a challenge to the strength and endurance of the competitors by paddling on a set course each day and battling the conditions of the River Murray.
