South Aussies Overseas
It may be cold and wintery in Adelaide but on the other side of the globe the European kayaking season is in full swing.  Many of our top athletes and coaches are currently competing overseas in international regattas and World Championships and they are doing the green and gold proud.

Junior Marathon World Cup Development Tour, Skanderborg, Denmark, June 9th-10th

Well Done to Matt Duggin who has recently returned from Skanderborg, Denmark where he competed in the Junior Marathon World Cup finishing 10th in a competitive field in the U18 K2 28km.

55th International Ruhr Regatta Bochum, Germany June 15th - 17th

 
The Senior Flat Water Team included 2 South Australians, Hannah Davis and Luke Morrison. Both showing the talent SA has,with Hannah Davis finishing 5th in the K1 1000 and 3rd in the K2 500.

The U23 Flat Water Team consisting of Mieke Borema, Anna Haymes, Louise Davies, Dale Welsh, Chad Alston and James Bayer. Fantastic effort by Mieke Borema and Louise Davies for finishing 4th in the K2 500 and Dale Welsh, Chad Alston and James Bayer for coming 3rd in the K4 500. Well done also to James Bayer who came 4th in the K2 500.  A great effort also by Junior Matt Goble who was able to tour with the U23 team on an Individual Initiative, coming 3rd in the U18 K1 500 and 7th in the U18 K1 1000. Good luck to the team as they soon head of to Bydgoszcz for the Under 23 Regatta in Poland.

Congratulations to the Australian Mens U23 team who won the Overall Pointscore Trophy in Bocchum.


Under 23 Regatta in Bydgoszcz, Poland

The U23 Regatta team have just come back after competing in Poland, all with smiling faces. Congratulations to the South Australians for putting in a fantastic effort. South Australian James Bayer and his partner Jesse Phillips who qualfiied for the final of the K2 500m and paddled extremely well to grab the silver medal. Also to Mathew Goble who qualfiied for the final of the Junior K1 500m and came away with the bronze medal and a 5th in the U18 K1 1000m.
The Australian team would like to thank the Polish Canoe Federation for their support and hospitality at this event.

Junior World Flatwater Championships in Chech Republic (Racise) - 3rd August 
Well Done to the following South Australian paddlers who will be representing Australia: Sarah Dehey, Rhys French, Luke Hanniford, Matt Goble and Michael Knauer.
 
Marathon World Championships Senior/Junior in Hungary (Gyor) – 8th, 9th September
