Description:
A fun weekend exploring the beautiful Coorong waterways.  Open to beginners and families depending on requirements and logistics – limited number of double kayaks available for hire (suggested use – parent in the back, junior in the front).  Optional overnight shack accommodation on the edge of the water on Mundoo Channel (get in quick, very limited number of beds) and possibly a limited number of spots to put up your tent.

Saturday – a gentle exploration paddle up Mundoo Channel and into Hunters Creek to explore and do the official ‘Bird Watching Week’ bird count.  Picnic lunch before returning back to base eta 4pm

Sunday – paddle down Mundoo Channel and (weather permitting) across to Young Husband Peninsula.  Stop for a tea break and to explore the dunes and the timeless shell middens of the Ngarrindjeri peoples. Do another official bird watching count.  Paddle on to Godfreys Landing for lunch and an optional walk across to the ocean side, find some cockles to eat before heading back to base eta 4pm

(Note for families:  we are looking for ways to get more kids out on the water – however it can be a long day in a boat so you will need to decide if your child will enjoy this aspect or leave them trying to jump over the side and escape!)
